My name is Johan Daalman a Dutch DJ, born in Vlaardingen in the early '60s, better known by my stage name Johan D. At the age of 17 I started mixing vinyl records. I was inspired by soul,/disco/jazz music and later on by the French composers Jean Micheal Jarre and Giorgio Moroder.
My DJ career in house music started in the early '90s as a radio jockey in Rotterdam. Soon after I became the resident DJ in Le Bateau in Rotterdam and played my sets in the clubs of The Hague and Scheveningen. In recent years Johan D. had gigs in Club NL in Amsterdam and hosted the Johan D. & friends area at Crazyland in Zaandam and the 7th Heaven festival in Beesd, but also weddings and private parties. Recently I also have gigs in the Harbour Club in Amsterdam and Vinkeveen the sound is specially selected for the clients of restaurants and lounge bar with the sound: classic-disco, nu-disco, lounge sound.
My interest in new technical skills for DJs has given me the opportunity to be a test DJ for the Final Scratch together with Richie Hawtin (aka Plastikman) and John Acquaviva.
